August 2, 2025 – MetLife Stadium witnessed absolute chaos, emotion, and high drama as WWE SummerSlam 2025 (Night 1) kicked off in epic fashion.
The main event saw a dream clash between CM Punk and Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship. In a brutal, technical classic, CM Punk emerged victorious, finally capturing the gold and completing his redemption arc.
But the celebration didn’t last long.
Seth Rollins, who had been faking a knee injury, shocked the WWE Universe by cashing in his Money in the Bank contract immediately after Punk’s win. With just one devastating Curb Stomp, Rollins stole the spotlight and walked out as the new World Heavyweight Champion.
